“Final Refrain” Film Casting in D.C.

Casting Directors are looking for talent in their 20’s to 50’s to work on scenes filming in the middle of April. This is a great opportunity to work in a movie filming in the greater D.C. area.

The film “Final Refrain” is a Sci-Fi/Drama set in the future. In a dystopian world where art and music are prohibited, a piano player struggles to make the ultimate decision of how far she’ll go, and what she’s willing to sacrifice, for her craft.

The following roles are currently available:

Lyra: (Female Lead, 20’S)
An artistic, feisty music-obsessed pianist trying to exist in a world that persecutes artists and musicians. She’s grieving her deceased mom while trying to finish the piano piece her mother started. Must be willing to learn a song on the piano, preference given to those who can already play.

Phelix: (Male Lead, early/late 20’S)
Lyra’s protective older brother; a logical, no-nonsense medical engineer who will do anything to protect his sister and himself. He’s trying to help her save herself and they end up butting heads in the process.

The government agent who is sent to kill Lyra after she plays the piano – is briefly swayed by her impassioned music, but can’t risk his/her own life protecting a musician.

Mother: (Female featured extra, forties/fifties)
Lyra and Phelix’s mother, a pianist previously killed by Agents. Artistic and nurturing. One line. Must be willing to learn a simple song on the piano, preference given to those who can already play.

Foreperson: (Male featured extra, twenties – forties)
The supervisor of Lyra’s work. A large, imposing man with a strong presence. No lines.
